What Others Say

The Quakermayd Lift is loved by superintendents and mechanics across the golf industry.  We spoke personally to many mechanics that have the Quakermayd Lift and they can’t imagine doing their job without one. Read our testimonials below to see what our customers are saying and contact us for more information:

“In some ways, the lift is a tracking device of where I have been throughout my career. I first saw the lift when I was the Assistant Superintendent at Congressional. I made it a priority to get the Quakermayd Lift when I became the Project Manager and Grow-in Superintendent at Tom Fazio’s, Sand Ridge, not only for the health and well-being of the mechanics, but the increased efficiency. I bought two of them 12 years ago here at Oakmont and my mechanics can’t imagine doing their jobs without them. They are easy to install, affordable, and great for reels and small mowers.”

John Zimmers Superintendent | Oakmont Country Club

“We purchased the Quakermayd Lift for checking mowing heights for walk behind mowers. The mechanics Kris Bryan and Shawn Arthur like the simple up and down, the bench that allows to be raised to different height so they can work comfortably, the bench has multiple uses for unloading and loading, and when is lowered is out of the way. This was a great purchase because makes the mechanics job easier, which turns into more productive days.”

Brett Bentley Golf Course Superintendent | Pikewood National Golf Club

“The Quakermayd Lift manufactured by Sterner’s Hydraulics is a great asset to our facility. It’s a must have for any maintenance shop (big or small) that requires lifting or working on small equipment. Our mechanics use the lifts daily to work on equipment and adjust mowers. It helps to save their back and provides a comfortable workstation for them to work at. It also provides us with a great tool for lifting machinery into the bed of a truck. Another great attribute is that the lift doesn’t take up any space, which allows us to park equipment over it for storage inside at night. The Sterner Hydraulic Lift Table was one of the first pieces of equipment we purchased and we actually designed a workstation around it from the beginning. This is the fourth facility that I’ve had the exact same lift table and I will make sure every facility that I’m responsible for has one. It’s that important to our maintenance operation!”

Eric Snelsire Director of Grounds | Glen Riddle Golf Club, Ocean City MD

“The hydraulic lift that your company supplied to Brook-Lea back in 1990 has been, and continues to be a great asset to our maintenance facility. We are able to maneuver many of out walk behind units as well as our golf cart fleet on your adjustable lift. The ability to bring these pieces of equipment up off the floor and perform general maintenance and PM not only saves us time but wear and tear on our mechanics mind and body. We would proudly recommend your product to anyone in our line of work.”

Greg Eason Golf Course Superintendent | Brook-Lea CC

“The fact we have 8 Quakermayd Lifts in our shop that we have purchased over the years as we have grown speaks directly to the efficiency and ease of the Quakermayd Lift. We use it day in and day out to service zero turns, lawn and garden tractors, and small equipment. I would not expect my technicians to work on anything less.”

David Lightkep David H. Lighkep, Inc.

“We have bought many Quakermayd Lifts from Sterner’s over the years and we find the product to be very well-built. Having our technicians be able to work on equipment at a comfortable working level is huge for both productivity and employee morale. We utilize these lifts in all five of our locations and would never design a shop without them. On top of the quality of the product, the people at Sterner’s have always been very courteous and efficient.”

Dan Weingartz President | WEINGARTZ

“We have ten of these lifts; we especially like the ease of operation, And the ability to rotate the lift a full 360 degrees, these lifts are used almost everyday and are a critical part of our service department.”

Courtney Little Service Manager | Robert E. Little Inc

“Dakin’s Yard-N-Garden Equipment, Inc.has been using the Quakermayd Lifts for over 50 years. The first 3 units were the 4” cylinder with 3’ x 5’plates and the latest, 11 years ago added 3 more 5” cylinder units with 4’ x 6’ plates for the larger equipment. The original 3 hoist’s were in our shop for about 12 years and after remodeling were moved to a larger area of the building and reinstalled. 27 years later we added another addition to the service department and installed the new larger units to accommodate larger equipment. After having this style of equipment lift it would be very difficult to change to any other style because these units allow working completely around a piece of equipment as well as being able to spin the hoist 360 to have the part being worked on closest to a work bench. Over the many years using the Quakermayd Lift we have had no negative experience, and new service tech’s are pleasantly surprised when they use these instead of having to work off the floor or around some framing as with other brands of lifts. I think one big feature is the fact that they lay flat on the floor when not in use, which makes it very easy to work over top of them with the very large tractors we carry. Very satisfied with these products.”

Don Dakin President | Dakin’s Yard-N-Garden Equipment, Inc.

“We have been using your lifts at our dealerships for over 34 years. We sell ski-doo snowmobiles, Can Am ATV’s, Spyder motorcycles, Sea-doo personal watercraft. We have some of your lifts that are almost 30 years old that are still in service and work like new. They make our service tech’s much more productive due to the fact that they can make there repairs at eye level and not have to roll around on the floor. When the lift is all the way down the plate is flush with the floor and units can easily be rolled on or driven on to make the necessary repairs. We can’t imagine being in recreational repair business without one.”

“It was a pleasure speaking to you the other day. Reflecting back on the Quakermayd Lifts, I believe we purchased the first two from Harvey Sterner in the early 1980s. Currently there are four lifts in our service shop. They have been trouble free for 30 years. Again a great product, I hope you continue to build them.”
